Good question. You don't want a textbook guide- you want someon who'll open Hong Kong like it's my backyard.
I'm not just showing spots; I'm sharing my life: secret eats, hidden alleys, the city's wild side. With me, it's not "tourist Hong Kong". It's real, raw, and fun.
We'll meet locals, laugh till our sides hurt... but also have those heart-tugging moments, like catting with an old uncle over tea, or singing at a quirky retired hustler club till late, feeling like you've known everyone forever.
It's more than fun- it's a soul-journey. You might walk out thinking, "why did this feel like reuniting with old friends?"
Truth is, I started as a guest- got blown away by some insanely cool guides, and it flipped my life. I quit my job, jumped in, not for cash, but because I needed to live true. Years later? Friends across the globe, all five-star reviews, and passion still burning.
That's my passion: fully connecting, no filters, all heart. If you vibe with that- honest laughs, deep talks, zero pretence- then yeah, I'm your guy. Let's make it unforgettable.
(And hey, if not me, at least find someone this true and passionate!)
Since 2017- started in Berlin, even met my wife there (more stories on Behind the Tours).
Back then? I went all in: two thousands tours, private groups, families, students from primary to uni, cruise passengers... sometimes two three a day. Are you a maniac? Maybe. I just loved it.
Now? I've eased up- more foucs on quality, less on numbers. I'm still chasing a full, rich life with the same fire: helping people professional, chasing my own creative bits... but tours? Still my heartbeat.
COVID paused everything, but since then I do a few every month. I save energy for the guests who really click- and honestly? I've made so many friends along the way. That fire's still burning- come catch it.
Mostly couples on anniversary nights, families wanting real Hong Kong vibes, or friends just out for laughs.
Honestly, lately, Americans top the list- then Brits, Aussies, Canadians. Back when I ran open walking tours? Everyone: folks from every continents, random backpackers, expats.
And yeah- I've had school kids giggling at street food, corporate crews on a team hangout, national signers belting out songs mid-tour, families tracing roots, and government folks, journalists and YouTubers who just wanna see the real side.
No matter who, it's always people who click.
Absolutely. I love all ages! Since I switched to private tours, half my groups are families, and hoestly? A lot of them are retired seniors who're still super lively.
I've taken 78-year-olds to wet market (they're the ones who drag me around!), and even folks with mobility issues- we can hop in private transportation if needed.
Kids? I'm a sucker for them. Parents always worry it'll be chaos, but I get it: they get super excited, zooming ahead, poking at everything, asking a million questions.
I actually enjoy that myself- so yeah, I play along- speak their language, crack jokes, and high five three times in a row. Relax, there won't be chaos, just a bit more activeness, still safe and fun.
Message me your concerns, and I'll tweak the route, add breaks, and make it easy for everyone.
My tours usually start and end at easily accessible places. You can take the subway to the meeting point. After finish, you can take the subway or other public transport to your next destination. I will help you out.
*Do get yourself an Octopus card for a smooth trip.
Yes, I can pick you up from your hotel (or any spot you pick), and drop you back after.
No matter if we're walking, taking a taxi, or using private car, just lell me where you're staying or starting from.
If you're at the airport, Kai Tak cruise terminal, or somewhere tricky, please let me know ahead so I can plan.
Want to meet downtown instead? Totally fine too. Just let me know where you're staying or starting from, and I'll sort it.
Definitely! My tours aren't for "tourists"- they're for anyone who wants the real, hidden side. Even locals who've lived here forever end up going "Whoa, I never knew that spot!"
Take Dr. Bekier: "I lived in Hong Kong for three years a decade ago and thought I knew it all... but we got a super authentic, fun experience that showed us a Hong Kong none of us had see before."
Some very seasoned expats still message me for more adventures. Local community groups even invite me to lead their outings. So yeah- whether you're first-timer or an old Hong Konger, come discover new things with me. You won't regret it.
Best is two to six adults- keeps it cosy, easy to chat, no one gets lost.
But hey, I handle bigger ones too: up to 12, 25, even 30+ if it's students, colleagues on business trips, or big family outings.
For lager groups? I'll split into cars, mini-bus, or full coach- whatever works. Still fun, just louder (maybe a mic, and I rock that well too).
If your group is over six, go private or custom- Just WhatsApp me. It's faster, I won't miss it.
Mostly English- that's what most guests need, so I keep it smooth and fun.
But hey, if you're Cantonese-speaking (like me!), we switch to Cantonese like ji6 gei2 yau2, no problem.
Mandarin? Sure, I can do that too- even teach you a few words if you want.
Wear comfy shoes and clothes- we walk a bit, hills too.
Bring water (HK heat is no joke, trust me), snacks if you're peckish.
Cash? Yeah, for small stalls or street eats- most big shops/restaurants take cards, but better safe.
Umbrella if rain's coming (weather flips fast in spring and summer).
Sunscreen too- spring-end and summer sun hits hard.
Oh, phone charger if you're snapping pics all day.
